Webb18 juni 2024 · Traditional backhaul relies on a high quality fixed connection, something that might not be present in a rural area. Wireless backhaul provides greater flexibility and cost efficiency with regards to network construction in rural areas, while it will be essential for dense 5G networks populated by small cells and other microinfrastructure. WebbMoreover, we evaluate an illustrative scenario of a ultra-dense network that operates with hybrid wired-wireless backhaul. We assume multiple radio access technologies at small and macro base stations (BSs), and we discuss optimal traffic splitting and routing solutions for different topologies and traffic profiles.
Webb27 juni 2024 · Backhaul is a widely known term that describes the link between a baseband and the core network. Fronthaul, on the other hand, connects the baseband to a remote radio unit. As it relates to small cells, operators are increasingly centralizing baseband resources and using fronthaul to connect a cluster of radios. Webb21 maj 2014 · Wireless Backhaul in Small Cell Networks: Modelling and Analysis Abstract: Consumer demand for data traffic has increased tremendously, and small cell networks …
