WebAug 29, 2012 · No pitting I use Aviation sealer. I hate RTV "strings" in an engine but as good as the Aviation stuff is, it doesn't seal deep pitting very well and is best used on smooth surfaces. Perhaps you don't need sealer on freeze plugs. But as hateful as they are to change with the engine is installed I take no chances.
