M1 MBA 512GB/8 core GPU connected via HDMI to Dell P2415Q with Apple USB-C -> HDMI adapter. Both screens open, with the Dell as an extended monitor (no mirroring). However, if I reload the map (either through the Main Menu or the game itself) the problem ends.

Testing with the -noWorkshop and -disableMods (make sure you get the caps right) launch options and starting a new city is the best way to check that. If that's fine, remove both and test on a new city to see it doesn't just happen in your save.

WebThe fussy shadows themselves are Ambient Occlusion, which I recommend turning down a lot. AO should be very subtle and almost not noticeable to look realistic. I'm not sure about the flickering, that doesn't look normal either. I do get a bit flickering when the day/night cycle is running, but it's very light. It does this on pretty much everything, but definitely roads, buildings, props and trees. It is just the shadows flickering not the textures.
